Part 1: Ode to Fashion

Hi, it’s me again.

It’s been a year since my last post, and it pains me greatly.  A lot has happened and maybe I’ll tell you guys about it one day, but not today. I write tonight in search of motivation. My goal is still the same: work in advertising.  I did some odd jobs here and there as well offered my counsel to people looking to make a name for themselves.

The first is a fashion designer looking to clothe ladies, and gentlemen in dazzling indigenous cultures. I like it! The fashion world has taken notice, but do the places where the designs come from benefit? If I were this designer one of my goals would be to give credit where it’s do, and actually have discussions on this very topic as a way to get noticed. The city of Houston is already a well known spot for designers to showcase their talents. Most designers pick a venue to rent out and prepare choreography, fittings and makeup at least 2-3 weeks in advance. However, I’ve also seen designers put an entire show together in less than 48 hours!

To be continued…. or not.

I saw it!

Do you recall watching those Oscar Mayer commercials with a cute kid singing to the go-to jingle, “My Hotdog/Bologna Has a First Name….”?

Well today the Wienermobile was spotted right outside a Kroger supermarket and it didn’t fail to attract passerbys. The 27-foot-long hot dog on wheels is part Oscar Mayer’s   advertising efforts to sell more of its products. Their brand ambassadors were also very friendly! They wore their uniforms with pride and were so excited to get us excited about everything Oscar Mayer.

More importantly we got some really cool swag from them such as the whistle, stickers and warm smiles! Finally we left with tons of photos to share with friends on social media.

Thank you Oscar Mayer for evoking a number of my childhood memories on that gloomy, Sunday afternoon.
